The Professor of Sociology at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), Bangladesh. He began his academic career at BUET in 1998 before joining SUST in 2001, becoming a Professor in 2013. He served as Head of the Sociology Department (2015–2018) and held key roles in academic councils and research committees. He earned his PhD from the University of Helsinki holds two Master’s degrees in Sociology and Development Studies., focusing on microfinance, gender, and neoliberal development, leading to his book The Micro-politics of Microcredit (Routledge, 2015). His research spans sociology, gender studies, and development, with expertise in ethnographic fieldwork and policy analysis.
