The professor of Sociology at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Sciences since May 1, 2023. She holds key positions in several university committees, including the Syndicate and Academic Council. Previously, she was Head of the Sociology Department (2018-2021). She earned a Ph.D. in Sociology (2013) from the University of Helsinki and holds three Master’s degrees in Sociology, Public Health, and Development Studies. Her research focuses on gender and domestic violence, leading to her book “Women and Domestic Violence in Bangladesh” (Routledge, 2018). She teaches gender, health, and sociology and has conducted extensive ethnographic research in Bangladesh.
